National Children’s Month Event

On November 26, 2019 the members of Academy of World Healing Foundation (AWH) which is a member of LCPC (Local Council for Protection of Children) attended the National Children’s Month celebration at the events place in front of the Alfonso municipal hall.

AWH financially assisted for Hygiene kits that were given to 650 selected indigent elementary pupils in Alfonso, Cavite.

Mayor Randy Salamat and other officials gave a plaque of appreciation for the support of AWH in the implementation of various social services with DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) and being a sponsor of the event.

LCPC Meeting – 2018 November

Alfonso LCPC (Local Council for Protection of Children) meeting was held on November 12, 2018 at the Mayor’s office in the municipal building. Mayor Varias, Dr. Manzo from municipal health department and Gina from DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) as core members also attended the meeting.

Main subject was Children’s day event which is scheduled on Nov. 26 and Alfonso day event to be held Dec 13-15. Children’s day will be attended by 571 children consist of 500 selected grade 3-4 elementary school students and 71 handicapped children. Proposed gift for the children is hygiene kit which include tooth brush/paste, soap, rubbing alcohol, towel, etc.). AWH has decided to donate P15,000 to help this gift giving. P2,100 each will be given to those 71 handicapped children from another government entity.

Some indigents under 4 P’s (Pantawid Pamiliyang Pilipino Program) have been working on recyclable trash and DSWD has conducted a project to utilize them. Five among the 4 P’s who came up with good ideas to utilize recyclable trash will be awarded at Alfonso day event on Dec. 12. AWH committed to donate 5 sacks of rice for it.

Children’s Month Celebration

On November 29, 2017, being a member of LCPC (Local Council for Protection of Children) in Alfonso, Cavite, AWH staff attended Children’s Month Celebration at the Alfonso town plaza. The theme of the event was “Bata:” Iligtas sa Droga!” (Save our Children from Illegal Drugs).

The event was attended by 600 selected indigent elementary school children from Grade 1 to 4. They received a hygiene kit containing toothbrush, toothpaste, rubbing alcohol, antiseptic cologne, cotton ear bud, 2 pieces of soaps and towel. Their teachers will teach them how to use the items properly to maintain basic hygiene.

AWH, RIMM (Rotary International Multinational Manila) and RIMM president Betty Vicedo made financial contributions for the said hygiene kit while Sunny Enterprises donated 500 pieces of small natural coconut soaps. Gina of DSWD and the wife of Mayor Varias were appreciative for our kind donations. We received plaques of appreciation from the Municipality.

At the end of the event the Municipality of Alfonso treated all of the children with snacks from Jollibee and they enjoyed the entertainment from the Jollibee mascot.
