In the afternoon of December 20, 2017 AWH staff attended Children’s Christmas event held at barangay hall of Sicat, Alfonso, Cavite, Philippines. There were more than 70 children who attend the event and sang Christmas songs. After singing they enjoyed spaghetti and ice cream donated by AWH. Captain Arevalo provided rice cake. In his speech Captain Arevalo conveyed that he is appreciative to AWH for its community services over the years.
On November 29, 2017, being a member of LCPC (Local Council for Protection of Children) in Alfonso, Cavite, AWH staff attended Children’s Month Celebration at the Alfonso town plaza. The theme of the event was “Bata:” Iligtas sa Droga!” (Save our Children from Illegal Drugs). The event was attended by 600 selected indigent elementary school children from Grade 1 to 4. They received a hygiene kit containing toothbrush, toothpaste, rubbing alcohol, antiseptic cologne, cotton ear bud, 2 pieces of soaps and towel. On December 21, 2016 AWH again funded the annual Brgy. Sicat Children’s Christmas Party with 118 children attending at the Brgy. hall. Inspired by Councilor April, the children sung Christmas songs and enjoyed plenty servings of spaghetti followed by ice cream. It was again a truly happy occasion.
On Dec. 16, 2016 Dr. Klaus, Madame Yoshiko and volunteer Christine attended a very enjoyable children’s Christmas play at Home for the 100th Sheep Day Care in Dasmarinas, Cavite, a relocation camp of formerly homeless Manila families. AWH, as it does every year, donated sacks of rice, assorted canned goods and also many coconuts.
In addition to the P15,000 fourth quarter donation, AWH donated another P15,000 budgeted for this event for additional gift giving to 512 indigent children and an additional 60+ gifted children as determined by DSWD. Each child received a backpack from the City and a water bottle from AWH that was individually gift wrapped by DSWD volunteers.
On December 18th, 2015, Home for The 100th Sheep, a DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) accredited organization which has helped over 200 resettled former street families from Manila, held a Christmas event for their children in Dasmarinas, Cavite. AWH donated sacks of rice, quality used clothes from Japan and biscuits to the organization so they they would be distributed to the resettled families later and participated the event.
